How GovMoneyMap handles saved guides, checklist progress, calculator entries, email, and site-operation data.
Updated September 26, 2026. GovMoneyMap is an independent information site operated by Sapipine, Inc. We explain benefit programs; we do not accept government benefit applications or determine eligibility.
What you can do without giving us personal information
You can read guides, search the directory, and use the guide finder without an account. The site does not ask for your Social Security number, case number, medical records, bank details, or benefit application documents. Do not send those records to us.
Saved guides and checklist progress
If you choose “Save this guide,” this browser stores the guide's URL identifier in local storage. The application checklist stores the identifiers of the boxes you check. These features do not send their saved lists or checkmarks to GovMoneyMap or an agency, and they do not sync between devices.
- Remove a guide on the Saved guides page or with the save button in the article.
- Use “Reset this checklist” to clear its checkmarks.
- Clear this site's browser storage to remove both lists. Private browsing or blocked storage may prevent them from being retained.
The Pell Grant calculator runs in your browser. Its calculation code does not submit your entries to us or to Federal Student Aid. An estimate is not an aid application.
Website delivery and security
Our hosting and delivery provider, Cloudflare, processes network requests so it can deliver pages and protect the site. Technical data can include IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information, and request times. Search terms appear in the directory URL, so do not put private case details into the search field. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for its data practices.
We do not use saved-guide or checklist information for advertising profiles. This version of the site does not embed Google Analytics or advertising JavaScript. It includes a public AdSense account-verification tag and an ads.txt file for our advertising application; those items are not an active advertising script. Before adding advertising or analytics, we will update this notice and implement the privacy controls that the integration requires.
Messages you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and the message you choose to send. We use that information to respond, investigate an editorial correction, or handle your request. Send a page URL and a description of the issue rather than private application records. Our contact page lists the address for editorial and privacy questions.
We retain correspondence when needed to handle the request, document a correction, maintain security, or meet an applicable obligation. You can ask about access, correction, or deletion using the contact address below; which rights apply depends on your location and circumstances.
Official and other external websites
Agency application links take you away from GovMoneyMap. The receiving site has its own privacy policy and may collect identity, household, financial, or health information for its services. Review the destination before submitting documents. We do not receive a copy of an application merely because you followed our link.
Children and sensitive records
The site is intended for adults researching programs, including parents and caregivers. We do not offer child accounts or ask children to submit information. If you believe sensitive information was sent to us by mistake, contact us without repeating that information in a new message.
